CCHS Teachers & Staff

Covenant Christian High School is comprised of nine talented and enthusiastic teachers.

Ben Beezhold

Administrator

Ben Beezhold serves as the school administrator. Assisted by the school’s Advisory Board (formally the Launch Committee), Ben serves as the liaison between the school and Covenant Presbyterian Church. Ben’s primary vocation is at Boeing as a structural design engineer (2012-present) which satisfies his enthusiasm about anything airplanes. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as running, rock climbing, & surfing. He also serves as a worship leader with his wife Mary at their church. Ben is thrilled to join the team to make Covenant Christian High School a reality!

Mary Beezhold

English & Humanities

Mary Beezhold teaches the humanities courses. She attended Biola University where she earned her teaching certification in English and secondary instruction. Since graduating in 2014, Mary has been teaching English at Cedar Park Christian School. She enjoys helping students discover the connection between history and story and challenges her students to use their written and spoken words with intentionality. Mary's husband, Ben, currently works at the Boeing Company in Everett. The Beezholds have been married for five years and recently relocated to Edmonds. Mary enjoys the outdoors, running, reading, cooking (with minimal recipe use), and spending time with friends and family.

Tom Bilbro

Science

Tom Bilbro has had a life-long interest in biology and science, earning an undergraduate degree at Seattle Pacific University and a master's degree from the University of Connecticut. He formerly taught 9th and 10th grade biology at Bellevue Christian High School and most recently taught Biology at CCHS. Tom is a father of five, and he and his wife Sharon enjoy spending time with their seven grandchildren. When he is not in the classroom, Tom enjoys getting out on his bicycle.

Kristine Grigas

Math

Kristine Grigas teaches Algebra 1 and Geometry. She has been teaching math in homeschool co-ops and tutoring since 2006 and delights in being able to combine a passion for math and a love for working with kids. Kristine has three adult children whom she homeschooled through high school. In her years before homeschooling, Kristine worked as a computer programmer at Boeing. Kristine’s favorite day would be to go on a hike and then curl up with a crossword puzzle and a cup of coffee.

Ed Harper

Civics

Ed grew up in San Clemente, California. He and his wife, Marcia, treasure frequent visits to SoCal to visit family. Ed was raised in a strong Christian home and accepted Christ as a child. A key verse throughout his life has been: “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9. When an injury stopped his career as a golf professional, he turned his career to law. He seeks to guide his practice according to Scripture and prayer, relying on the Lord. Ed and Marcia have five young adult and adult children.  Recent additions to the family include two granddaughters.

Graduated 1991 – Thomas Jefferson School of Law

 

Ed is excited to be teaching civics at CCHS especially in 2020, which is a Presidential election year, a census year and also with the examples of public protests and COVID restrictions – there will be a abundance of things to talk about.

Ross Hauck

Music & Choir

Ross Hauck teaches music and choir at CCHS. He holds advanced degrees in music (Masters and Artist Diploma) from Cincinnati-Conservatory of Music. He is a professional tenor, a professor at Seattle University, and the music director for Covenant Presbyterian Church. His wife, Laura, homeschools their four children. Their twin boys are 9th graders at CCHS. He believes training young minds in music is an indispensable and formative part of discipleship. (Col. 3:16; Eph. 5:19 -20). He loves hiking, hymns, donuts, and puns, but not all at once. He says "CCHS stands for Christians are Called to Harmonious Singing.

Rev. Eric Irwin

Bible & Apologetics

Rev. Eric Irwin will be teaching Bible and Apologetics. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Master of Divinity magna cum laude from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis. Eric is the senior pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church. He and his wife Lisa have four children. He enjoys mountain-biking, the outdoors, photography and the increase in time hanging out with Lisa, his best friend, since the kids have grown up.

Bill Larson

Physical Education

Bill Larson leads the weekly “temple maintenance “ sessions (a.k.a Physical Education) at CCHS. After thirty years in the corporate business world, he has been allowed the opportunity to re-engage his passion for the outdoors and fitness. He has most recently been running the high school and middle school physical education departments at Cedar Park Christian School. He believes God has created us Body, Soul, and Spirit (Il Thessalonians 5:23), and when these three parts are functioning together, we bring the greatest glory to God and the greatest goodness in our own lives! He is excited to bring this passion for PE to the students at CCHS next fall. Bill and his wife Sharleen have four grown children and four grandsons with another on the way.

Rev. Shiv Muthukumar

Bible & Apologetics

Rev. Shiv Muthukumar will be teaching Bible and Apologetics. He was born and raised in a Hindu family in India. Shiv met the Lord Jesus Christ while pursuing a graduate program in computer science at the University of Pennsylvania. He received a call to pastoral ministry from the Lord, while working as a software engineer with Amazon in Seattle. He left his job and went to Trinity Evangelical Divinity School near Chicago to receive the Master of Divinity degree. In 2018, he was ordained with the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and currently serves as the Associate Pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Shiv is married to Namhui (pronounced Naam-Hee), who is from South Korea. Shiv loves the inter-disciplinary nature of studying and teaching the Bible – particularly culture, religion, history and apologetics – with the purpose of knowing Christ and making him known.

Beverly Roecker

Math

Beverly Roecker will be teaching Pre-Algebra and Algebra II. After receiving her bachelors of music degree she went on to graduate school to study mathematics. She has been a public school math teacher for three years, a homeschool and co-op teacher for 16 years and a math tutor in all levels of mathematics up through Calculus for 33 years. She homeschooled both of her children through the 12th grade. Her youngest daughter was in the first class that completed three years at CCMS. She loves dancing, gardening, music, and giving of her time to whatever the Lord puts in her path.
